Nutro Party
Recently, we were contacted by Nutro to host a Small Breed Taste Testing Party. We were delighted. We will be hosting our party in the days to come.
We'd like to apologize to Nutro for hosting our party at such a late date, but due to our current lack of
living arrangements, it's made our party more challenging to host. We'd also like to thank Nutro for such a wonderful opportunity. The supplies are fantastic!
We are very familiar with the Nutro brand in our "home." Nutro is the only brand of food that Humphrey can eat without causing him weight gain. We've tried every type of diet (including homemade recipes), and Humphrey would still pack on the pounds. Also, their grain free food is perfect for pups, like CoCo, who experience tear stains.
Nutro's small breed line is excellent. The tiny morsels are perfect for small breeds.

Hooray for Awards!!!!
In all the madness of our move, we nearly missed having received a couple of awards. What a wonderful surprise!! First, we'd like to thank Cinnamon and Popcorn for our awards!!

7. Brando is afraid of his shadow, birds, fish, hats, his water bowl, trees, (you get the idea!), but we recently found out he's NOT afraid of horses!!
6. Humphrey will be at the Pet Expo in Denver Aug 11. Hoping he'll be willing to show off some of his amazing tricks.
5. Ziggy is the smallest of all our the Cavaliers.
4. CoCo keeps all of her brothers in check with her strong female personality.
3. Brando and Humphrey will be hosting a Nutro Small Breed Dog Food Party in the very near future.
2. Humphrey is a great swimmer. He rides the waves to catch his toy or a stick.
1. At bedtime, Humphrey is my crown (he sleeps on his back on my head and snores), and Brando is my slippers. My feet, and head, will never be cold with them around!

Terrible Move
Dear Blogging Buddies,
Before we begin, we would like to apologize to all of our blogger friends. Lately, it's been very difficult trying to write for the blog. We've been trying to find a way to visit everyone, but we don't have Internet connection. We are going to be stopping by McDonald's to post this, and to come by and say hi.
Our move has been nothing short of a nightmare. We are just over a month into it, and we still haven't found a place to live. Right now, we are in temporary housing until the 16th. We wanted to stay here, but our landlord is very strange. She won't let us have mail, we can't have phone service (hence, no internet), she won't let us have garbage service.....the list goes on and on. It seemed like things were going to be okay in the beginning, but everything fell apart very quickly. Then there was the fire.......
In this mess of trying to find a place, without being scammed out of our money, we lost Cleo, and our girl, Rosie. I cried like a baby. There will never be a pup as gentle as Rosie. Rosie was a German Shepard mix that we adopted from the animal shelter in Chicago. We were taking our time in looking for a pup, when we found Rosie. We spent weeks going back and forth to the shelter. One week Rosie was there, the next she was gone. Then the next week would come, and she'd be back. This pattern of back and forth went on for a while. She kept getting adopted, only to be returned. It turned out she was perfect for us. I can't imagine what the problem was. All she ever did was ball herself up, and sleep on the couch! Cleo was the opposite of Rosie. She followed us around, was always under our feet, waiting for her next job. She loved Tim. When he came home from work, she'd jump off all fours straight into the air. I've never seen a pup jump so high!
My love for them has made me love the Cavaliers, and CoCo, that much more. Let's move on before I start to cry, again.
In trying to distract ourselves from this chaos, I stumbled upon something exciting to do with Humphrey. Hunting for shed deer antlers. He's really good at it, except he wants to gnaw on them before returning the antler to us! He looks at us like "Hey! Finders Keepers!" I think by January, he'll be ready to go! He's also started training towards service dog. Moving has made him a little shy. The trainer thinks he'll get over it once we are settled in, and we all have a routine.
I could type all day so we could catch up on the antics of Brando, Humphrey, Ziggy, and CoCo. Instead, I'll leave you with some photos. We wish everyone well. Hope to be back to blogging really soon.

P.S. We will be starting a new blog in the very near future. Although things haven't been turning out quite the way we've hoped for, we are always looking for a new adventure. That blog will be about our latest animal adventure.

Hartz and the Wounded Warrior Project
Recently, we were contacted by Hartz representative Megan Fleming, to help raise awareness of the collaborative effort of Hartz, and the Wounded Warrior Project.
The Wounded Warrior Project was founded in 2003. Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) began when several veterans and friends, moved by stories of the first wounded service members returning home from Afghanistan and Iraq, took action to help others in need. What started as a program to provide comfort items to wounded service members has grown into a complete rehabilitative effort to assist warriors as they recover and transition back to civilian life. Thousands of wounded warriors and caregivers receive support each year through WWP programs designed to nurture the mind and body, and encourage economic empowerment. You might be wondering how the WWP fits into a blog about dogs. The WWP provides canine therapy to assist soldiers. (After Action, Volume 3, 2010) Having a dog during the recovery process allows warriors to avoid the awkwardness of transitioning back into society. In other words, people focus on the dog, and not on the rehabilitating warrior. In order to raise awareness and support from pet parents all over the nation, Hartz has started two major initiatives:
Hartz is encouraging their fans on Facebook to change their Facebook profile and cover pictures to a Wounded Warrior Project image to honor our brave servicemen and women. To change your profile and/or cover picture, please visit the Hartz Facebook page.

Hartz has recently released special WWP Military Dog toys created in collaboration with the WWP. For each Military Dog toy sold, Hartz will donate $1 to the WWP. (The toys can be found nationally at Amazon.com and Walmart through the end of May).
