Rio Grande Stroll
Gracie's 1st Photo Journal Post: Rio Grande Stroll
"Thank you for the lift, Cottonwood tree."
"Now you can see
Sandia Mountain in all of its
beauty."
The sturdy Cottonwood gently muttered.
"What's that hiding on your long branches?"
Gracie softly asked. "It's a Webworm nest. They come to visit in
the Fall, and always stay until a warm
March day."
"Ah! The shade is so nice. Thank you, dear Cottonwood."
"Hey! Did you see that, my new friend? Wowsers!"
"If we're really quiet, Gracie, maybe
the Monarch will hover a
little while longer."
"The butterfly isn't the only friend that came to
say 'Hi'. Do you see him, Gracie? Gracie?"
The Cottonwood was confused.
"There you are."
A warm breeze rustled the leaves
of the old Cottonwood tree.
"Enjoy the calm of the Rio Grande, Gracie."
